salesonrails is run by ourselves, we take responsibility for your online store being available 24/7. Instead of providing you with software to run your store, everything is setup and managed from our servers. This means we are responsible for the day-to-day operation of everything technical and that all you need to worry about is updating the content of your store and sending out the orders.
Why the name? salesonrails is built on the Ruby-on-Rails framework created by David Heinemeier Hansson. We have adopted this technology to build an e-commerce environment because of its strong commitment towards standards.
When we set out to build salesonrails we wanted to ensure that every feature was tested, that updating the solution was straight-forward and easy and that bugs and issues didn't creep in because of regressions in code.
As the Internet landscape changes frequently, we wanted to be able to ensure our customers were able to take advantage of improvements to the solution quickly and without headaches and that the flexibility existed to improve the performance of sites in popular search engines.
When we build your e-commerce site, we build with it a full test-suite, this means that your application is tested automatically every time a change is made. If a change is made that causes functionality to break on the site, the test-suite will discover this and it will notify our development teams as well as ensuring this regression does not ever get onto the live site.
